South Burlington City Center for the Arts

A World Class Creative Arts Facility for South Burlington's City Center District

South Burlington City Center/TIF (Tax Increment Financing) District is an area located between  Dorset Street and Hinesburg Road (see map at left). The concept behind City Center is to effectively blend existing neighborhoods, commercial areas, natural areas, undeveloped properties, and undeveloped lands into the true downtown of South Burlington.  The downtown will provide increased connectivity through new cross streets; support an integrated mix of housing, retail, and employment; and be a primary focus point for compact, walkable development within the City. This vision for South Burlington’s downtown - City Center - has been a dominant feature of the City’s adopted Comprehensive Plan as far back as 1985.  For more than thirty years, the community has planned for and invested in the development of its own downtown.  That vision is now beginning to become a reality.

Embedded below is a 2014 conceptual video that illustrates what the City Center build out could look like. We believe that incorporation of a Center for the Arts into this complex would contribute significantly to the success of City Center.
